The ThinkGeek R2-D2 measuring cup set is, simply put, the most fantastic kitchen utensil ever made.
It is truly the epitome of form meets function. It is one of the coolest looking kitchen utensils you will ever own, and unlike most other gimmicky kitchen aids, it is 100% perfectly functional.
It comes with nine different measurements: ½ TSP, 1/3 TSP, ¼ TSP, 1 TSP, 1 TBSP, ¼ CUP, 1/3 CUP, ½ CUP, AND 1 CUP for all of your measuring needs, which store together in a nice neat package. Now the measurements are all fine and good, but it’s the assembled product that makes this piece so great. Once it is fully reassembled, it is an exact, scaled down replica of R2-D2 That hangs out on your kitchen counter. It really makes for a great conversation piece when guests want to know why you have Artoo sitting on your counter. Everyone I have shown this to found it absolutely amazing.
All of the measurements are completely accurate. I tested them all against two other measuring devices, and found no flaws. The only minor drawback about this product is that it is not dishwasher safe. In my world, this is a very minor blemish, as I would probably wash it by hand anyway.
This would make a great addition to any Star Wars fan’s home, or really anyone that just wanted something cool hanging out in their kitchen.
